...hick high school spirit has at last appeared at Harvard. Encouraged by the recent activities of Eli freshmen a group of would-be collegiate high school youths gathered on Saturday night and decided to institute Pajama Night at Harvard. We may thank God that at least the attempt was a failure. A few cries of "Let's go fellows", a few regular Harvard cheers for pajamas, and a few college songs were sung, and pajama night failed. Though Yale freshmen are criticised for their youthful absurdities, our Harvard hicks are not even manly enough to break a fence...
...Waiters eight, a feature of the Red Top training scissions for a number of years was formed today, and bids fair to be the best combination to represent the Crimson against the similar Eli organization for some time. Coach Hoover, who rowed in the University crew against Yale last year is stroking this year's Waiters eight, with Coach Spuhn at seat seven, Coach Haines at six, and Coach Stevens at number five. Dr. Harding, crew physician, is at seat three, with Head Waiter Jones rowing...

This overwhelming defeat was inflicted on the Blue shell in spite of a flagrant violation in crew etiquette on the part of the Yale coxswain, who in addition to steering his boat its somewhat zigzag course down the Thames, assisted the progress of his shell by using a canoe paddle. It is reported that both camps intend to take the Waiters race seriously this year...
...Intercollegiate title. Last week this runner came in fourth, covering the distance in 1 minute 55 3-10 esconds, but still nearly two seconds behind the winner, Marsters of Georgetown. Both Haggerty and Barker can run the half in under 1 minute 58 seconds, whereas Gibson, the best Eli half-miler, usually breaks the tape in a fraction over 1 minute 58 seconds. When pressed Gibson may show something better, but the chances look good for a Crimson cleanup in the half...
...quarter the Blue team scored two men. Captain Gage came in second and Paulsen fourth. In the two-mile run another Eli, Briggs, was fourth, behind Tibbetts of Harvard, Barclay of Penn State, and Loucks of Syracuse. In the high jump Yale again figured with Deacon, who cleared the bar at 6 feet 1 inch. By throwing the spear 186 feet 4 inches Bench of Yale took first place in the javelin event. Bench was in Cambridge ten days ago looking over the Crimson weight men in the Princeton meet...
