Aspirants for the Presidential nomination of the Conservative Party, which has governed Nicaragua since 1910, include General Emiliano Chamorro, former Minister to the U. S., and Dr. Carlos Cuadra Pasos, Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Government sent a force to Granada, Conservative stronghold, and seized primary ballots, consisting of 12,000 rifles, 6 machine guns, 50 Lewis machine guns, 240 cases of ammunition from the arsenal.
