...particular skip tracer of this film is one John Collins, Vancouver's finest, Man of the Year for his firm three years running, and probably the coldest, most calculating lead character of the year. With his stylish suits and grown-out crew cut, he is the epitome of the emotionless bureaucrat, a surly, cocky SOB whose meanness is matched only by his ruthless efficiency (pardon me, I'm raving). Gielgud's son, who is his fantasmagoria becomes a monstrously callous and emotionless lawyer and husband, is played with cruel, aristocratic brilliance by Dirk Bogard; the casting could not have been better. Ellen Burstyn, meanwhile, does not quite convince as the lawyer's wife; she's supposed to growl like a trapped domestic pet and take gleeful pleasure in taking on a lover...
...Freshman Reed Eichner. In the words of captain Campbell: "The last good runner to come out of Kansas was Jim Ryun, and he fell down in the Olympics." But seriously, folks... Campbell continued: "Eichner's incredibly relaxed about running--almost emotionless--and he's in great condition. He's just phenomenal...
