...Radcliffe position there has come a new attitude toward the Annex Commencement. Functioning members of the Joint Education Program, Cliffedwellers have come to be viewed as participating students who in general, unspecified ways, follow the same rules as their Harvard colleagues and are just as likely to end up with a degree. Taking the same courses, the same exams as the men from the Houses, Radcliffe students evidently can be graduated too. This is indeed a change from the days when those in the Annex were considered part of the local scenery, appearing in time for football games, and disappearing...
...excruciatingly pleasant sensation to descend from your parch at game's end and to stride a purposefully through the crowd, flaunting press passes and demanding entrance to the locker rooms. The petty officials delegated to guard such sanctums are inevitably a suspicious, lot, and it is indeed pleasant to brush these minions aside and enter to mingle with the great. Twenty-five years after the era of the Stutz Bearcat and the racoon coat the undergraduate is passing by the classics to jump up end down on the atom. The social isolation of Harvard's first 300 years has been washed away in the revitalizing democratization process of its last 15. Harvard's horizons have broadened and Harvard's "A" has narrowed. But Harvard's crew still rows four miles against Yale at the end of June and all the accompanying hoopla is still there...
Goodyear held Harvard to singles in the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings while the Crimson touched him for two singles in the ninth. The visitors loaded the bases in the fifth and had two man on in the seventh only to have popups end the rally.
