...Spring Flirtation" sustains to the last the interest of the reader, and is entirely free from that looseness so common in short stories which allows him to see the end when he has scarcely begun. The bits of description are delicate, and the treatment is, in the main, original. The writer shows power of observation particularly in the character of May Vernon.
