...method and the theory on which their editors seem to proceed, and, unless I am entirely mistaken in the tone of college feeling in this matter at Harvard, I think I am not alone in my opinion. I want to say as for the Lampoon that in general I enjoy its articles and witticisms immensely; and this simply for the reason that they do not have a chronic appearance of being forced out at the imminent risk of the sanity of their originators. ...taken by the faculty for next year. The importance of the course calls renewed attention to the need of a similar one in the French department, where little or no provision is made for exercise in composition, although the need of it is great and urgent. We enjoy admirable advantages at Harvard for the study of French literature and for translation, but in the matter of French composition there exists this lamentable deficiency in instruction, which would be largely remedied by the institution of an additional elective after the plan of the German course referred...

The wing has long been needed, and as we enjoy its conveniences, we congratulate ourselves that it has come in our time. Among other things, one peculiarly "Lasellian" feature is the model kitchen, where our future housekeepers practise weekly the art and mystery of cooking. It is a pleasant sight to watch a group of enthusiastic girls at the work, with rolled...
