...signature cause, climate change, for the next 1 1/2 years, that's bad for the earth and unworthy of a politician who has a record for being principled and decisive. With jobs plentiful and the economy strong, there never will be a better time to be aggressive. True, the environmental community must do more to build grass-roots support, but who is Al Gore if not the country's leading environmentalist? If the environment is ever to be civilization's "central organizing principle," surely it should be the central focus of Gore's campaign. That would force his Republican opponents...
