They also covered "When You Wish Upon a Star," which was added to their repertoire after performing their annual gig at Walt Disney World's Epcot Center, where they do 60 shows in two weeks. During the song, percussionist Cliff Coombs made a mockery of conducting as he danced and skipped around the stage, succeeding in firing up band and audience members alike...
...crowd was up and dancing in the aisles for parts of the second half of the show, and for all of the encore. Rarely does Symphony Hall catch that kind of inspiration. Hopefully, BankBoston will have the Panazz Players back next year and make this an annual tradition. Otherwise, Epcot center will be the only place in the U.S. to enjoy Panazz...
Inside the Tree is one of the park's few structured entertainments, It's Tough to Be a Bug!, a 3-D film with in-theater effects on the order of the Honey, I Shrunk the Audience attraction at EPCOT. Inspired by characters in this fall's film release A Bug's Life (from Disney and Pixar, the tandem that made Toy Story), this creepy-crawly mini-epic features a cast of zillions and plenty of clever insect asides. But the kids will love the gross-out effects. One tiny creature, the Termite-ator, blows "snot" at the audience...
