The deceased will be remembered by his classmates and friends as an excellent scholar, genial, ambitious and energetic in disposition, and of consistent Christian character. Coming to college with but meagre preparation, he at once took high rank for scholarship, which he maintained throughout the course. After graduation he accepted a position as instructor in Groton Academy, but rapidly failing health soon compelled him to retire.
