...before he was nominated in 1924. Mr. Lowden had refused that nomination. Mr. Dawes instantly accepted it. It is improbable that that bit of history will even paraphrase itself this year. Yet it is also historic that the Vice President's relative, William Dawes, rode on the same errand as Paul Revere. He took a different course. He came to fame much later. But measurements show that Dawes outrode Revere by two miles...

Caruso. Enrico Jr. and Rudolpho, natural sons, are also at large. It was Enrico Jr. who last week arrived in the U. S. on an errand concerning his father's business affairs. His errand concerned specifically the royalties for Victor records which, as the records are sold, are now paid to the tenor's widow according to arrangement in a U. S. court. From the Democratic point of view it might seem like sending a boy on a man's errand to let "Young Bob" do this. But sometimes a boy does better than a man, especially on a saucy errand. Through "Young Bob" the Democrats will see their purpose served without loading themselves with responsibility or "radicalism." Similar Democrat-through-Progressive strategems may occur frequently this session...
