...satisfactory. The U. Of M. men played a much better game than their showing in the last few games has led one to expect of them. Harvard played a strong game in the field. Wiggin's fumble of a hit was excusable. The only bad break was Winslow's error at short. Scannell's catching was not up to the standard he has set lately. Highlands pitched well. The batting of the team showed no apparent improvement. Most of the runs were made in the first inning. Deans got his base on balls but was forced out at second...

...last part of the sixth Warren got to first on an error by short, and scored on singles by Stevenson and Scannell. Scannell was forced at second by Steven's hit and a moment later Stevenson was put out at the plate in attempting to come home on Garrison's grounder to R. Reed. Then Anderson got his base on balls and with the bases full Paine got a hit. Stevens and Garrison scored but Anderson was caught off third...

In the outfield Wiggin at centre put up a fine game, catching two difficult flies. O'Malley at left had but one opportunity and this he took. He, however, batted better than any one else on the nine, making three hits...

The fielding of the Amherst nine was below the standard but their batting was strong. Highlands and Gregory both pitched well but Gregory was poorly supported. The best play of the game was Winslow's stop of Fletcher's hot drive near second. In the fourth inning Highlands stole home on a wild throw by Stearns which went over Tyler's head. The score...
