...burn cases, moderate and severe, by Drs. Archie Edward Cruthirds of Phoenix, Ariz, and Wilmot Frank Pierce of Los Angeles. The burns were caused by steam, hot metal, hot oil, lime, gasoline. Patients were sprayed with mixtures of Hydrosulphosol and water every 20 or 30 minutes until a tough "eschar," or "scab" was built up. The eschar is flexible, leaves room for motion, reduces scars to a minimum. Hydrosulphosol, said Dr. Mellon, not only relieves pain, but prevents infection, great hazard in burn cases...
