...Your Essay "How America Drinks" [Dec. 29] was enlightening and encouraging to me as a nondrinker of the dry Baptist tradition, and a pastor at that. However, I'd like to be assured that "the average American knows how to handle his liquor" and his powerful car on a crowded highway as well.
