Less than two weeks more remain during which contestants may submit contributions for the Advocate's $25.00 prize offered for the best essay on religion, education, or liberalism. The manuscripts should contain not more than 2,500 words, although more than one manuscript may be submitted, each of which should be signed by the contributor. Some years ago a man, not altogether averse to prominence at the Lake Mohonk peace conferences, offered $100 to the student in any American college who would write the best essay on the peace cause. With a great flourish of trumpets, the donor himself making a magnificent speech, the $100 was finally awarded.
