Underline them, capitalize them, insert them in outline form; be sure we don't miss them. Why do you think all the exams insist at the top, "Illustrate, "Be specific;' etc.? They mean it. The illustrations, of course, need not be singularly relevant; but they must be there. If we Vague Generalities are anathema, sparkling chips of concrete scattered throughout your bluebook will have you up for sainthood. Or at least Dean's List. Name at least the titles of every...

...delivers lines in earnest or with meaningful pauses when her character's been found out, but the look and feel smacks of trying too hard. Looking concerned is not enough to convey emotion, nor does wielding a gun against evil men and "fighting back" correlate to credible passion, anger, etc...

Like jaded cynicism applied to every-thing in the world 24-7, though, such meta-ness isn't really sustainable for long without wearing thin: expectations grow higher and higher, we're the rats at the cocaine drop bottle with the tap key, etc. Scream 2 can't go much beyond its first virtuoso scene, in which a woman is stabbed by a movie's fan(atic) in a movie theater raucous over the violence on the screen. We ourselves in the theater feel real fear that the same could happen...
