Northern Entente? Until 1918 the Scandinavian countries-Norway, Denmark, Sweden-were neutral. Then, like Belgium, they yielded to idealism, joined the League of Nations. That ideal was shattered when Germany marched into the Rhineland, when Mussolini invaded Ethiopia. It was during Mussolini's African adventure that the famed Oslo group got down to business.
