...News and World Report issued its annual college rankings this week, with Princeton beating Harvard as top university and Yale coming in third. Just like last year. Williams edged out Amherst as the best liberal-arts college. Again, just like the list that came out 12 months ago. Except for one dramatic shift (which I will get to shortly), the new rankings don't look much different from previous lists, despite the recent organized rebellion against the magazine's long-criticized method of pitting school against school. So far this year, 62 college presidents have signed a letter pledging...
...Which is about all that's left for female moviegoers to do. Except for the months from December to February, when the tonier Oscar hopefuls allow some good roles for actresses, women have practically disappeared from movies. A decade ago, when the teen audience had established itself as the dominant box office demographic, producers scrambled to "young down" their projects, casting actors in their 20s for roles written for characters in their 30s and 40s. Today his most popular DVD titles are the ones that show him in unbridled action: the documentary This Is Elvis and the concert film Elvis: That's the Way It Is. They also allow the faithful to plunge more deeply into the sacred mystery that is St. Elvis...
...thanking her. But what she remembers most from that night is this: "My brother was facing the entire restaurant, he flipped out, he had one of his episodes. My dad had to carry him out and calm him down. It was kind of like what happened the other time, except no one was really looking at him and saying, 'What's wrong with your child? Why is he acting like that?' Instead, people asked, 'Are you okay? Do you need anything...
