...with election year, Hollywood has come up with a time-honored favorite son. And so long as Frank Capra sticks to the original Crouse and Lindsey stage play, his treatment is entertaining. The story of the airplane builder who runs for president and discovers that "he must approve everything except sin" has been filmed true to script. Spencer Tracy blusters sufficiently for a man who jumps into politics over his neck and gradually discovers that handing out golden platitudes on silver platters is a tricky business. He winces effectively as his managers tell him that people are nice but they...

About the participants there is little to be said except to commend them all. The chorus sang excellently, and they knew exactly what they were doing, which is always a help. Ditto for the orchestra. The soloists, Ellen Faull, Eunice Alberts, David Lloyd, and George London, were almost uniformly fine (I found the Agnus Dei particularly well done), and over them all was Koussey, red-faced and snorting, combining his usual technical perfection with a magnificent conception of what it was all about, outdoing himself, as the saying goes. Lennie Lunder, Chip Gannon, and John Caulfield will be is the outfield, while the regular quartet of Coulsen, Huntington, Mannino (now recovered from his leg injury) and Captain Coppinger will play the infield...

...University buildings by student organizations. Dean Watson simply administers regulations laid down by others. The Corporation, the Caretaking Department, the Maintenance Department, other schools of the University, the Cambridge police regulations and tax laws are all involved in this. The Dean's Office had little to say about it except to carry out as equitably as possible the reasonable regulations which have been laid down. Since there are expenses involved in the use of buildings and since there are some seventy organizations as well as numerous non-student and unorganized groups competing for highly inadequate space, a certain amount...
