...good plan left, and this strategy has the best chance of success. Departing in the midst of widening chaos for which we bear responsibility would be an awful outcome, but that prospect is looming and time is running out. If we continue to stumble along our stubborn path, any exit strategy we could then design would be particularly treacherous. If we seize this last chance and do our best to make it work we might succeed. If we failed, we would then still be better off navigating withdrawal and coping with its aftermath, perhaps with more respect and resiliency...
...offended that the authors would equate ‘mere convenience’ with the aforementioned plight of transgendered individuals attempting to find a safe bathroom. For one thing, a straight, non-gender queer individual can easily enter an opposite-gender marked single occupancy restroom and, if approached on exit, shrug and explain that he/she really had to go; I have done it in gas stations, and really nobody cares. But a trans individual (or even a queer individual such as myself) trying to enter a public, multiple-occupancy restroom faces the threat of verbal and physical abuse, angry questions...

Still, the ones who have been fired probably deserved it. "To my knowledge, I haven't seen a CEO's exit that was scandalous or shocking," he says...
...white knight following an accounting scandal last year, the new CEO, Anders Moberg, faced a storm of criticism over his guaranteed $1.68 million bonus for each of his first two years. That was on top of a $1.68 million salary and stock options as well as a hefty exit package. Moberg, a Swede who formerly ran Ikea, eventually agreed to take a lower salary and link his bonus to the firm's performance. At Germany's Bertelsmann, one of the first moves by Gunter Thielen when he took over in August 2002 was to abolish the office of the chairman...
