Universal keycard access in the Houses is an issue that has been a subject of debate among administrators and students for quite some time now. Cabot and Winthrop Houses recently introduced the program, with Dunster House expected to follow suit in the near future. Quincy House has had universal keycard access since November 4, and, now that a month has passed since its institution, students' reactions provide an indicator of what residents of other Houses can expect of the effective open-door policy...

...Dolls has proven difficult to ruin, remaining everyone's favorite for its lovable plot and classic '50s show tunes. Harvard, which according to director Colleen McGuinness '99 is predisposed towards "modern, very smart shows" rather than "big show stopper classics," is one of the few places you wouldn't expect Guys and Dolls to play. Though this "slant towards the non-traditional" was one of the lesser barriers to the show's production, Guys and Dolls will indeed open this weekend--in no less than the Hasty Pudding, which has for the last decade been the turf...

...considered Romantic music, but don't expect the opium-filled fun of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. The musical elements are too literal to invite creative interpretation and at times it seemed repetitive in its use of musical devices. An overly-dramatic orchestra might have felt compelled to dilute parts of the Symphonia Domestica into a pre-Stravinsky and Debussy prototype. Many arpeggios sound very much like those of Debussy. And it is true that some percussion lines sound so much like The Rite of Spring that a timpani-player might have to hold himself back in order to play...
