Aside from the general excellence of TIME news, I note as well a marked improvement in the LETTERS, those in the issue of April 23 being especially noted by intelligence and common sense on the part of several writers, Francis A. Thompson, John C. Wright, J. F. Bassett, particularly one by Thomas O. Marvin. I agree in the main with R. W. Graham, but the most effective way to deal with Heflin is to apply Irvin Cobb's "The Thunders of Silence," thus removing him from the pages of every newspaper of consequence.
