AIDS-related sicknesses have taken the lives of more than 25 million people worldwide since its appearance in the early 1980s. ...saddened by Christopher McFadden's editorial "Quilts and the Moral Fabric" (Oct. 17). I respect his right to express his opinions, however much I may disagree with them, for as he says, dialogue is essential to progress. However, McFadden's depiction of AIDS as a homosexual disease troubled me; by now he should know that the epidemic is much more complicated than that...
