...done most of the pitching for the nine, and does fairly well, he has good curves and very fair speed. He is very weak on "pop" flies, and also at the bat. It will take a great deal of hard work to get him in proper condition to face Yale. Cowling will play first base ; he plays his position fairly well, but is weak on "pick-ups" and ground balls. ...Princeton students a short time ago found so much difficulty in enforcing discipline among the professors that they published a statement in regard to the bad conduct of the faculty, in order to array public sentiment against the wrong-doers. The seniors of Hamilton College have been brought face to face with a rebellion on the part of the faculty, and it seems probable that in the end the rebellion will triumph. Only last week representatives from half a dozen colleges met in order to discuss measures for enforcing discipline among professors and presidents, and issued an announcement...

...Professor Pennofold raised the standard of botany examinations and the students snow-balled him in the class-room till he was forced to leave. Thursday they refused to show their museum tickets, and broke open one of the professor's rooms, threatening violence and shaking their fists in his face.
