...just what course was indicated for him, but very often those who object to such a decision simply argue that it is inexpedient because it alienates "moderate" opinion. Isn't it time for "moderate" opinion to ask itself whether it is rightly alienated in such circumstances; whether in fact it has not become irresponsibly indulgent of willful minority actions, which are still destructive even if idealistically provoked by a dreadful war. At this late date, one need not be an alarmist to wonder how long the free university in this country can survive the extra ordinary conjuncture of such extremes...
Despite the fact the Harvard cannot repeat as EIBL chanmpion, the team still has several bright prospects. With a total of five games remaining on the schedule. Harvard could finish the season at 15-7. That record is just one game off the peace that sent the Crimson to the NCAA District I playoffs last year. Since two of the spots in the tournament are non-league assignments, victories over Dartmouth and Yale in the coming week might clinch the Crimson one of those two spots...
THIS SORT of good-humored piece is almost beyond criticism. Yet I feel that its simplicity, facility, and accessibility collapsed into a mere smile of irritating urbanity. Nearly every one of Britten's works is charming; in fact, so is nearly every British and American work that is ever performed. Billy the Kid, Rodeo, Red Pony, Appalachian Spring, The Incredible Flutist, and Tender Land are all charming. The Tallis and Greensleeves fantasias, Young Person's Guide, Ceremony of Carols, and Spring Symphony are all exquisitely charming, irresistibly delicious. But I, for one, am slowly drowning in this unendurably "childlike" floodtide...

In fact, it was largely due to this situation and Mr. Galbraith's de haut en bas attitude towards the Harvard Business School as reported in the Wall St. Journal (while he is battening on the fruits of of the Affluent Society created by Capitalism) that I recently changed my will leaving half my estate in trust to the Harvard Business School instead of to Harvard University...
Twice as many police as demonstrators must indeed be a record. Was University Hall or the aplomb of the deans so precious? Was Harvard in fact so foolish as to play not just into the hands of the tiny radical student left but those as well of the Cambridge and other police who, as you know, relish an opportunity to crack Harvard heads...
