...much lettuce, everybody ate lettuce,” he said. Many of Israel’s unique fruit juices were originally created during an orange surplus. According to Ben-Yehoyada, the 1990s saw the advent of popular Israeli and Jewish ethnic food. But many items associated with Israel in fact originated all over Europe and the Middle East. Schnitzel, from Germany, is often stuffed into pita, Falafel is Egyptian, Israeli salad is actually Turkish, and fried eggplant is Iraqi. “[Ben-Yehoyada] was incredible,” said Sarah B. Davis' candidacy is a distinctive part of a coming electoral test. Between now and November 2010, in fact, nearly 40 of the nation's governor's seats will be up for grabs. One of the most intriguing battlegrounds will be the South, where Republicans dominate the governorships, 6-to-5. Democrats are emboldened by Barack Obama's victory last November, particularly in Southern states like Virginia, North Carolina and Florida - wins achieved partly because of high participation by those states' large black electorates, as well as the infusion of relatively affluent transplants who aren't beholden to the region...

For someone primed to love the Pontiac brand, the Sunbird was a disheartening experience. Everything from the trunk lining to the levers used to (manually) adjust the driver's seat seemed flimsy and prone to problems. Service at dealerships was mediocre at best. They...
