Yesterday afternoon the University crew squad held its first fall practice on the river. Three crews were made up and left the Newell boat-house separately, going up-stream. Yesterday afternoon the candidates for the University crew met in the Newell boathouse and a brief outline of the fall rowing was given out by Captain Richardson. The squad has been divided provisionally into three crews which will row every afternoon, beginning today, from the Newhall boathouse until about the middle of November, the time set for the close of fall rowing.
