Cornell has won for six consecutive years, and is considered likely to win again today. The University team has made a very much better showing this year than last, so far, and is expected to win third place at least. ...far the hardest proposition before the coaches this year has been the selection of men for the backfield. Of the backs, Corbett, Kennard, Smith and Ver Wiebe never played behind the line before, and Cutler, at quarterback, is new to his position. The present set, Corbett, White and Ver Wiebe, or Kennard in case Burr does not play, is strong and fast. White and Ver Wiebe play hard, aggressive games and are both good line plungers. Corbett and Leslie, who alternate at left halfback, have proved the best ground gainers, and their running through a broken field is particularly good...

The game was remarkably clean throughout, and there were few penalties...

This year's Freshman team is unusually strong and has won every game played so far. They defeated Groton for the first time in five years and won from Exeter and the Brown freshmen, both of whom defeated the 1911 team last year. The backfield is especially strong, Pierce and Frothingham being consistent ground gainers. The Yale freshmen outweigh Harvard, and have shown a good deal of reserve power when hard pressed. They have won all their games, defeating Andover, with whom the Harvard Freshmen played a tie game, by the score of 22 to 0. This makes Yale...
