Last week the world was shocked when Farzad Bazoft, a British-based Iranian- born journalist, was hanged in Baghdad after being convicted on charges of having spied for Israel and Britain. Bazoft, 31, was arrested last September while on assignment for the British weekly the Observer. He had been investigating a mysterious explosion that reportedly killed hundreds of workers at a military complex south of Baghdad.
