...from last year's offence are available this year, Sortwell and Palmer. Sortwell has been shifted from left wing to left centre in order to make room for Hopkins at the former position. Sortwell is the fastest man on the team, and should have no trouble in keeping his position, though Hanson will prove a valuable substitute. At right centre, Phillips, captain of last year's Freshman team, has superseded Palmer. He is very clever in stick-work but has a tendency toward slowness and individual play. Hopkins at left end is outplaying Baldwin, the other candidate for the position...

Princeton again proved conclusively that it possesses one of the fastest backfields in the East by defeating Syracuse, 62 to 0. In the five games which Princeton has so far played it has scored a total of 234 points. In no game, however, has the line been given a severe defensive test and last Saturday a distinct weakness in charging was apparent. The scoring was due very largely to the Syracuse backs' inability to tackle, nearly every touchdown being the direct result of a long starting...

...fastest games of the season the University baseball team lost to Princeton, 5 to 1, on Soldiers Field Saturday afternoon. Bartholf pitched first class ball for Harvard. With one exception he was steady in the pinches, and gave only three bases on balls. He allowed the Tigers seven hits, but three of these were very scratchy. Had Bartholf been given good support the outcome of the game would have been very different...

O'Brien '14, may possibly show up strong in this event, although O'Brien may be used in the sprints and should show up well this spring. R. G. Huling '13 is one of the fastest quarter-milers in College. Other possibilities are H. M. Warren '13 and W. H. Fernald '12, although either of these men may be tried in the half-mile. Besides Warren and Fernald in this latter event, there are B. M. Preble '12, the winner of the event in the Harvard-Yale...
