With the exception of the battery candidates, the entire University baseball squad practiced outdoors on the Freshman diamond yesterday afternoon. The ground was too soggy for fast work and nothing but simple fielding was attempted. Frequent changes were made in the line-up to give as many men as possible a chance to accustom themselves to the outdoor work. The usual batting practice was held in the Cage before going outdoors...
...YORK, March 20, 1907.--The Columbia freshmen won the eastern freshman intercollegiate basketball championship, by defeating the Freshmen this evening by the score of 33 to 10. Harvard was unable to cover Columbia's fast forwards, Kiendl and Blumenthal, each of whom shot 6 field goals. The Freshmen were deplorably weak at shooting baskets, scoring only two goals from the floor during the entire game.
