As a Democrat-leaning independent, I was willing to overlook Romney's Republican ways because of what he accomplished in private business, with the Utah Olympics and as governor of Massachusetts. An awareness of his father's untarnished reputation while governor in my home state also didn't hurt. But his seesawing pegs him as a politician desperate for any and all votes.
