Until Tuesday the race promised to be slightly in favor of the Newell crew, but on that day Glidden, who was rowing at 3 in the Newell eight, stopped rowing. Frost was tried in his place, but as he could not row in the race, Morris, who rowed bow in last year's Freshman crew, but has not been in training this fall, was put in at bow yesterday, and DuBois was moved from bow to Glidden's place at 3.
