...endless, empty stretches of white sand glimmering in the roseate reflection of billions of tiny shells. Barbuda (pronounced Ear-byou-duh), which has one of the Caribbean's few bird sanctuaries, also offers the area's best hunting: white crown pigeon, guinea hen, duck, fallow deer and feral boar...
...minor roles, Macaire Henderson and Ellen Brenner as the Doctor and her assistant stand out in their duet "Go to the Mirror." Steve Harrison as Cousin Kevin is chilling as he produces an amazing picture of sadism and feral, sexual hunger while viciously torturing his helpless cousin. Seven tracks on Swindle exemplify this refurbishing of old hits. Rotten is in prime sneering form, fairly spitting out the three syllables of old Who warhorse "Substitute," bringing a feral edge to Boyce and Hart's familiar "Stepping Stone" and Faces standard "Whatcha Gonna Do About It." Or at least it is supposed...
Meanwhile, the Russians are also realizing that close friendship has its hazards. Iraq and Syria, whose rival Baath parties have been quarreling for years, are now involved in an even more feral argument over sharing the Euphrates' water; the Soviets are damned if they take sides and damned if they don't. Moscow is also faced with an inevitable conflict between Communism and either Arab nationalism or Moslem theocracy, or both...
