What happened? For one thing, admits the Rev. T.A. Raedeke, Lutheran executive director of Key 73, "it was a fiasco financially." Organizers had hoped for at least $2,000,000 for the national campaign; less than $600,000 materialized. Most of the money went for a television special and other activities of "Launch Weekend" a year ago. Local and regional groups, though, spent at least $10 million...
...Sanders's home head coaching debut against the University of Connecticut last week was a fiasco. Not only did UConn romp, 80-52, but Sanders found out about Cambridge basketball apathy. An estimated 1100 fans gave Satch about 20 seconds of half-hearted welcoming applause that got drowned out by the announcer's microphone. But they might do some old songs. They might even have written some good new songs. And if you don't mind that the cheapest seat is $4.50 and if you are willing to believe that Stills and Young may show up, maybe going to this concert is worth the trouble. I doubt...
...CITY BESET by over 150 murders each year, it is odd that two should be treated so differently. For the most part, the stories which reported the murders were accurate (discounting of course the Barba fiasco) but the prominence assigned th stories and the subsequent graphic, and follow-up reporting was badly overdone...
