...varsity practiced signals for some time and then lined up against the scrub, scoring three touchdowns and a goal from the field. After the reaction of the Yale game, the spirit of the practice was admirable. Every man seemed to be making an extra effort and the result was that the team showed some of the hardest and fiercest football that has been seen on the field this season. Plenty of coaches were out, prominent among whom was B. G. Waters '94.
