In the second heat Lafayette won the choice of position and easily pulled Princeton, the anchor of the latter team being pulled completely from his position largely on account of the nature of the soil. In the final pull Lafayette won the toss and took the side which had been successful in the two previous pulls. Although Harvard pulled in beautiful form she was beaten by about 3 feet.
