...Harvard cross country teams, last Friday was not an easy day. Both the men’s and women’s teams found themselves out in the cold as they finished the day in the back of the pack. Outside of sophomore Lindsey Scherf’s performance, only one other runner on either side finished in the top thirty. Both ended the day’s race—which took place with temperatures in the mid-40s—in eighth at the Heptagonal championships, which were held this year at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx...

...took a radically different tack. Patients received free medication if they signed a contract pledging that they would finish their treatment; friends and family served as co-guarantors. Those in the program received nutritional supplements through the World Food Program. "Our whole approach from the beginning is that no one wants to be sick, no one wants their kid or wife to die," says Goldfeld, who visits the program several times a year from her base at Harvard. And this dire situation wasn’t just media chatter and fan disappointment either. Crimson coach Tim Murphy talked last week about readjusting goals...

...Harvard lightweights and both Radcliffe crews were in action at the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J., yesterday, the second major fall head event for both teams. The Crimson varsity lightweights improved upon last week’s eighth-place finish at the Head of the Charles Regatta with a fourth-place showing yesterday. Last year’s champion, Harvard started first and clocked a 13:42.80 time over the 2.75 mile course, finishing 0.33 seconds behind defending national champion Yale (13:42.33). Penn (13:37.19) and Navy (13:41.24) were the top two finishers in the lightweight eight event...

...team for [winning] that third game,” co-captain libero Elizabeth Blotky said. “We’ve been working hard at pulling games out this season. Despite the loss, I think we showed a lot of improvement in terms of just being able to finish a game.” In a nail-biter of a frame in which the Crimson had four game points before sealing the deal, Harvard showed a glimpse of what the team can really do. After freshman outside hitter Kathryn McKinley’s second kill of the frame...
