...second eleven plaved a practice game with Ninety on Norton's field yesterday afternoon. Play began shortly after 4.30, Ninety taking the south goal. The ball was first forced near to the second eleven's goal but a long kick by Johnson returned the play to the middle of the field. Good work was then done by Ninety's backs and in seven minutes the first touchdown was scored. No goal. Score, 4-0. Moen carried the ball close to Ninety's goal, but it was soon returned to the center of the field. Johnson's kick was fumbled...
Play in the annual half tennis tournament began promptly yesterday morning on Jarvis courts at 10.15, and was kept up with short intervals all day long, so that the preliminary and first rounds were both played off. The playing was on the whole very good, and a number of students witnessed the different matches...
