Movie soundtracks inevitably suffer from the limitations of the genre. One option is to pack your album full of tried and true, catchy tunes that have little to do with the film in question. On the other extreme, a filmmaker could commission a more tailored fit, usually VIA original instrumental compositions. The results in either case can vary from the extraordinary (the apropos songs of Trainspotting and Pulp Fiction, or the haunting instrumentals of Twin Peaks) to the banal (most others...
While it reflects the band's growth as they have learned to combine their unconventional instruments, Greatest Hits is surprisingly cohesive. Unfortunately, "Communication" (from 1997's Left of Cool), featuring Dave Matthews' vocals, is an obvious attempt to recruit Matthews' fans, and doesn't fit with this otherwise purely instrumental album. Probably the power rock band of the '70s, Led Zeppelin--singer/majority songwriter Jimmy Page, guitarist Robert Plant, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer John Bonham--has partially influenced almost all of modern rock. In the long run, Waddell prefers to create her own costumes rather than draw on the resources of a costume stock. This way she is allowed to draw more heavily...
...smoke it, since College policy prohibits smoking in both common areas and student rooms of all Houses. While it's not entirely convenient for cigar or cigarette smokers to go outside to get their fix, it's particularly difficult for pipe smokers, who must carry more paraphernalia than will fit into a carton of cigarettes. The above-mentioned junior admitted that he smokes infrequently because of the hassle of finding a proper location. St. John says that he "tough[s] it out with the rest" of the smokers outside. Years ago, Leavitt and Pearce used to fill this need, Macdonald...
