...book. He is photographed with Brigitte Bardot. For Paris Match, he revisits French Guiana and poses in the crumbling cells of the now abandoned penal colony. "Would you like to come back to France for good?" a reporter asks him. "France is my blood," says Papillon, with that terse flair that never seems to desert him. "Venezuela is my heaven." Two books are written attacking Papillon. One claims the author was not really much of a safecracker after all. The other suggests that his book is full of errors. Agencies frequently choose new fields that reflect their special talents, or the bent of the boss. Wells, Rich, Greene, mirroring President Mary Wells Lawrence's flair for drama, recently established a motion-picture company, W.R.G./Dragoti Ltd. Two films, Dirty Little Billy, a saga of Billy the Kid, and Spoiled Priests, about a Catholic priest who leaves his order, will go into production within the year. Most of the photographic, writing and editing talent for Billy will be drawn from the W.R.G. staff. Lois Holland Callaway's ventures are in keeping with the canny flamboyance of its president...

Although they have been lagging badly in the space race, the Russians have not lost their flair for the dramatic. Just as a major international space conference was winding up in Leningrad last week, and U.S. Moon Walker Neil Armstrong was inspecting the cosmonauts' Star City compound outside Moscow, the Soviets launched a two-man spaceship, Soyuz 9. into orbit around the earth. On board were Vostok 3 Cosmonaut Andrian Nikolayev, 40-husband of the world's only spacewoman, Valentina Tereshkova-and Rookie Vitaly Sevastyanov, 35. They were the first Russians in space since last October...
