...conscious that they are acting, and the plasticity of their conversations is impossible to overlook. To be sure, there is a patent attempt to flesh out the main characters’ three-dimensionality. Tucker’s secret sexual naïveté, for instance, complicates his otherwise insufferably flat character. But nothing can save either protagonist from the actors’ forced deliveries. Ultimately, Hugh Hefner is the only realistic character in the film, and that isn’t saying much since the man plays himself. Like a gawky teenager lumbering at a school dance...

...Solutions for Jobs and Prosperity include creating a temporary new tax credit to offset 50% of the payroll tax (helping both workers and small businesses), cutting the business tax rate to 12.5% to match Ireland's, and reducing the 25% marginal income tax rate to 15%, effectively establishing a flat tax rate of 15% for almost 9 out of 10 American workers. ...disappointment in the cast is Steven Cardona’s Billy Lawlor. While Cardona’s dancing is acceptable, his acting and singing are not suited for this role. Great songs like “Dames” and “Young and Healthy” fall flat, Cardona’s too-weak tenor voice drowned out by the lovely orchestra. The work of the fantastic ensemble sometimes suffers from technical glitches like delayed light cues, but overall their performance only adds to the dynamism of the show. In particular, Jennifer Cohen shines as Maggie Jones, a role...

...taxes left two possible conclusions: either Geithner knowingly underpaid, or the man now nominally in charge of the IRS couldn't figure out his own taxes. His first major speech as Treasury Secretary, delivered on Feb. 10 with a focus on how to save America's banks, fell flat in part because he had few details to provide and in part because expectations had been raised by everyone from his aides to the President himself...
