Maybe the best way to evoke the odd and intriguing flavor of The Loman Family Picnic is to recount the ending -- or rather, endings. Released on $15,000 bail, Drayton, who once served 20 days in jail for punching his girlfriend, checked into the Betty Ford Center. His record company says he is seeking treatment...

There is the snobbery about country of origin, the niggling distinctions about process of preparation, and the gratuitous use of descriptive yet totally inaccurate adjectives to distinguish flavor. The coffee illuminati can sip their Kenya AA or $30-per-pound Jamaican Blue Mountain while they debate the comparative merit of washed and dry-milled beans with an air of enlightened self-satisfaction...
...other words, people don't kill people, Mrs. Huberty said. Guns don't kill people. But MSG--the chemical flavor enhancer found in Big Macs and many other restaurant dishes--does...
