...funeral of Professor Asa Gray took place Thursday noon in Appleton Chapel. The services were very simple, and, with the exception of a very few floral decorations, there was an absence of display. Rev. Dr. Peabody read passages from the Scriptures and Dr. McKenzie delivered the eulogy.
