There, he allegedly met a 33-year-old female Taiwan intelligence agent who had flown from Washington, where she worked for Taiwan's representative office. ...what has it all amounted to? As the most powerful nation in the world, we have managed to track down and kill a few members of al-Qaeda. No more airliners have been flown into skyscrapers in the three years since 9/11, but then that was true in the three years before 9/11 as well. Are we safer from terrorism than we were before? The only honest answer is, Who knows...

The Pentagon persuaded Congress to spend $8.7 billion on 2,096 Strykers because of their ability to be loaded into the ubiquitous C-130 cargo planes, flown to war zones, then immediately rolled down the planes' back ramp and into combat. To convince doubters, the Army even staged a demonstration at Andrews Air Force Base, in which a Stryker and its 11-troop crew emerged from the belly of a C-130 like toothpaste coming...
