James Joyce's grave was marked by a black stone in the snowy Fluntern Cemetery above Zurich. Nobody seemed to know what has become of his last unpublished writings. His secretary, Paul Leon, returning to Paris for them in 1940, had been caught by the Nazis and never heard from again. It is possible that Mme.
