Since the Columbia game last Saturday, the University team has improved materially in stick work and in ability to follow and keep possession of the puck. On the offense the forwards play together better, and in passing, especially across the rink, have become faster and more accurate. With the exception of Callaway they still fall, however, to follow back properly after losing the puck. The work of the men in this respect has been slow and ragged all season, and in a close game is likely to prove disastrous. The team is considerably weakened by the loss of Manning...

In stick work, passing and keeping possession of the puck, however, the men were deficient and often very careless. Fairly good progress was made until about a week ago when MacLeod was put on probation and forced to leave the squad. The principal fault is their failure to follow back and to aid the defence after losing the puck. The defence, though weak early in the season, has improved greatly and is now fairly satisfactory...
...short practice last night the Freshmen defeated a scrub team by a score of 30 to 18. Owing to the absence of Broun and Sessa from the line-up the play was lifeless and fumbling was constant. Lack of ability of the scrub team to follow its opponents was mainly responsible for the score...
