...headed out on foot across a small dam and then walked along an irrigation canal past rice paddies. Our leisurely stroll ended abruptly when the path veered off through 12-ft.-high, aptly named saw grass. But the discomfort of being hacked at by razor-sharp weeds became fond memories when the trail suddenly zoomed up the mountain at a 70 degrees incline.
