Warren played a good game except for his old fault of running into the line too high. His kicking was a feature. A. R. Sargent was in excellent form and will be a strong substitute for Boal. Gierasch played his usual dashing game and was a great help on the defense. Eaton and Stevenson were both injured in the practice. The line-up follows: Substitutes. Second Eleven. Plans for the erection of the University Club have been under consideration since last spring, when a new committee was formed by combining the old University Club and Memorial Committees. The committee decided last spring that the best form of memorial to the Harvard men who died in the Spanish war, would be a building which should be so connected with the daily life of the students that the memory of our volunteers should be constantly impressed on each successive generation of Harvard students. In order to obtain the grade of expert a perfect score of 25 must be shot. Two scores of 15 straight entitle the candidate to the first class grade, and three scores of 20 out of 25 qualify for the second class. Yesterday Blake, Mallinckrodt and Phelps won the second grade medals...
...Senior eleven has not a sufficient number of candidates to form a good squad. Many of the men are experienced, however, and have had valuable coaching, notably by J. S. Cranston '91. The game between the Seniors and Juniors should be a good one. The Sophomore eleven is the weakest of all. A small number of men came out at first, and although many more have joined the squad, they are mostly light and new to the game...
