...Harvard lacrosse team has been honored by the selection of three of its members to form part of the "European team" which will play abroad this summer. This is a large proportion to come from one club and throws credit upon the work, which Harvard has done in introducing this sport among students. Unfortunately the faculty has just told the undergraduates chosen that they could not go unless they would consent to be dropped a year in their college work. This they have thought it best not to do, and, therefore, Nichols will be Harvard's sole representative...
...glad to see that our suggestion in regard to the organization of state clubs is likely to be adopted by one state at least. An effort is being made by a number of students from Ohio to form a state club from the students in the college who come from that state. The final arrangements have not as yet been made, but there seems every reason for believing that the organization will be completed in a short time. FLYING RINGS.Bachelder, L. S., Walker, '84, Allen, '84, and Pudor, '86, were competitors in this event. The exhibition was good, though somewhat long; Allen won applause by lifting himself up with either hand, and by holding himself extended with arms behind his back. ...dudley. Dudley was particularily easy in his manner on the bar and showed very chean and careful work. Osgood showed careful preparation in some of the minor parts of his exhibition but failed in the more difficult feats. While the horizontal bar was being taken away tht stalwart forms of the 'varsity crew appeared on the floor amid continued applause. The machines were all ready and the crew took their seats at once.
