TEXAS ACROSS THE RIVER. Cliches fly like arrows in this rambunctious spoof of that hallowed tradition, the Hollywood western. Barely defending Texas against the Comanches are Dean Martin as a bunkhouse bum, Rosemary Forsyth as pioneer womanhood, and Joey Bishop as a faithful Indian scout...
...main characters are prairie prototypes, comically mugged. The hero (Dean Martin) is the bunkhouse bum: tall in the saddle, low in the brow, pronounces cow in three syllables, thinks "ideals" is what a man says when he picks up a deck of cards. Hardison admits to having some off days when "you wonder whether you are professing anything except ignorance. Sometimes I tell my best jokes and get nothing but lumpish faces staring back...

Dr. Finn Brudevold of Harvard's famed Forsyth Dental Center is concerned that the tin in the stannous fluoride solution commonly used for painting may interfere with the absorption of fluorine, and he is casting around for a better compound. Meanwhile, he says, it helps to cover the teeth, right after painting, with a protective coat of silicone grease. A colleague, Dr. Basil Richardson, believes that...
